Just two days before my spring break starts, and I can't wait to take my beloved to Colorado with me!! I'm also terrified to try snowboarding, but I've skied all my life, and I'm just as adroit on my skis as I am on my bike or my own swift feet. I just hate the idea of strapping myself onto a board and then falling down a mountain. But it'll be fun! XD In other news, I got another commission!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have made a quiver for my cousin that my mom helped pay for the leather on, and I've made a holster for a friend in return for a knife with an antler for the handle, but this one is relatively easy, and I'm getting pai

Cowboy hat

So, some of you remember when, almost a year ago, I made my first leather project. I wanted a bracer, and I had no idea what I was doing, but I made it, and I still use it today. Fast-forward to last night, and I made my most recent project, a cowboy hat of leather, taking me about 2 hours to make (really short when it comes to leather crafts). I'm wearing it to class today. I also have a standing commission to make a quiver for my cousin as her birthday present, and I'm almost done with a chest-piece of armor that I don't like. So, I'm writing again...

I haven't had much time during the year to write, and I haven't had any ideas on the break, but now, I think I'll try again. Update! I am nearly completely finished with my first real quiver! I sewed together half a dozen straps and scraps of leather and now I have a beautiful quiver. It only holds ten arrows or so at the most, so it's not a battle quiver, but it's beautiful for hunting, with a pouch (was REALLY hard to do!) and a couple of bow straps. I just need to replace one of the straps, sew on a sheath for a hunting knife, and sew a bit more of the rain cover that came loose. Normally, I'd patch these right up, but my needle broke.
